CATHOLIC ACADEMIES & SCHOOLS

Saint Augustine Academy Ventura, California. In fidelity to the truths of our Holy Catholic Church, the mission of Saint Augustine Academy is to assist parents in their duty of fostering within their children growth in the theological, intellectual, and moral virtues. We strive in every task to inculcate in our students the profound insight of Saint Augustine: “You have made us for Yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.”

Saint Monica Academy Pasadena, California. St. Monica Academy, an independent, coeducational school for grades one through twelve, founded by parents in fulfillment of their primary responsibility for educating their children, seeks to form students in faith, reason, and virtue through a classical education in the Roman Catholic tradition.

Sierra Madre Academy San Marcos, California.

Wayside Academy Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The mission of the school is to facilitate a close collaboration of home and school, and a related feature of Wayside is the four day week - this is for all grades. We take seriously that parents are the primary educators of their children, and they have the grace of state: it is fitting that even organized learning should be as much something that happens at home as at a school. Of course the nature and degree of formality of that work varies with the stage students are at. The coherence between what is experienced at Wayside and what is experienced elsewhere is a fundamentally important element of children’s formation – the parallel encouragements of home, school, parish and community should weave a powerful fabric to clothe our young. The over-riding characteristic of the school is that it is Catholic: the prayers, language, images, saints, heroes and heroines, and the generosity of the Church surrounds us. We link the liturgical calendar to our stories, music, science, practice of specific virtues, and of course, special events embedded in the school year.

CATHOLIC HOME SCHOOLING

Angelicum Academy ● The Angelicum Academy (“TA”) is a Catholic homeschool and liberal education program based on the liberal arts and the classical great books of Western civilization (with optional, Socratic discussion seminars). In addition to offering all the services available from the Great Books Academy, TA also provides a religious curriculum that is faithful to the Magisterium of the Catholic Church and mindful of the teachings of Saint Thomas Aquinas.

Aquinas Homeschool Books Aquinas Homeschool Books is a family run discount bookstore where homeschooling families can find a wide variety of excellent educational resources that are in accord with Catholic doctrine.

Catholic Heritage Curricula ● Educating for Eternity! Academic Excellence - Affordability - Catholicity - Gentility - Simplicity

Kolbe Academy Home School ● An orthodox Catholic and classical home school program for grades K-12. Kolbe Academy cooperates in the order of grace to assist those in its charge to know, love, and serve God.

Love to Learn ● Provides objective and thorough information about educational materials from a solid Catholic perspective. Rather than simply judging materials for you, we try to provide enough information to allow you to make those decisions for yourself - particularly in cases where materials provide no problems with regard to the Faith, but will bring up other questions involving learning styles, maturity level, and other issues that matter to parents like you.

Mercy Academy Mercy Academy is a K-12 independent study program dedicated to helping the home educator. Our staff hold graduate level degrees and have experience homeschooling their own children, as well as experience teaching in regular classrooms. We are committed to home education as a way of preserving childhood innocence and nurturing Catholic scholars known for their deep spirituality and keen intellect. Our services are now offered individually so that families may chose exactly what suits their needs. These services include: learning profile assessments; basic registration in the Academy and consulting services; multi-level course syllabi for history, science and religion allowing siblings to learn together; problem solving, record keeping, report cards, transcripts and quarterly evaluations.

Mother of Divine Grace School Mother of Divine Grace School was founded in 1995 to provide parents with the information, resources, and support necessary to educate their children according to the classical tradition.

Our Lady of the Rosary School ● Our Lady of the Rosary School Inc is an international Catholic homeschool organization which offers complete curriculums for students from grades pre-kindergarten through twelve. Our Lady of the Rosary School Inc is more than simply a school, however. We are an apostolate dedicated to saving the souls of children by giving them the opportunity to receive a superior, truly Catholic education in the best possible environment - the home.

Regina Coeli Academy Regina Coeli Academy (RCA)  mission is to support, but not to supplant, the homeschool parent as primary educator by providing a rigorous college preparatory and classical homeschool curriculum which challenges the intellect and nourishes the spirit with the riches of the Catholic tradition. Our homeschool curriculum contains both live interactive courses as well as self-directed study courses hence allowing structure but also flexiblity as sometimes needed for the homeschool student.

St. Thomas Aquinas Academy From Pre-1st to Grade 12, the St. Thomas Aquinas Academy classical home school curriculum is designed as one graceful whole, with a unit study flavor, that easily adapts to many grade levels learning at the same kitchen table. We encourage a relaxed teaching style, tuned to the natural developmental phases of the child's intellect. We help you teach your child to learn, resulting in a competent, confident child with a life long enthusiasm for learning, ready for college, work, or family life-whatever his or her calling may be.

Seton Home Study School ● The Mission of Seton Home Study School is to help parents fulfill their mission to educate their children for eternal salvation, as well as to be good citizens in this world to influence others to live the Christian life.

CATHOLIC RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Catechetical Resources ● An online community where catechists can come together and exchange thoughts and ideas as well as find support with many sources available.

Catholic Educator’s Resource Center ● The purpose of the Catholic Educator’s Resource Center is “to identify existing resources and to develop new resources which effectively communicate the power and beauty of Catholic faith and culture and to make these resources readily available for Catholic educators.” The Center has indeed fulfilled its purpose by featuring a wealth of information in the form of a huge database of well-written, informative articles. This is an excellent resource not only for educators but for all Catholics.

The National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd ● The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of children. It is rooted in the Bible, the liturgy of the church, and the educational principles of Maria Montessori. Children gather in an “atrium,” a room prepared for them, which contains simple yet beautiful materials that they use.
