The gift of prayer that endures in its efficacy by the eternal merits of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
The celebration of the Mass represents the perfect sacrifice of Calvary and is “the source and summit of the whole Christian life” (Lumen Gentium, §11). The priest exercises his sacred function in the celebration of the Mass by which acting in the person of Christ (in persona Christi) he unites the prayers of the faithful with the sacrifice of Christ (cfr. Lumen Gentium, §28).
The Christian faithful down through the ages have traditionally given alms for the celebration of the Mass that it may be offered for the repose of a soul or for the special intention of the living. Mass Intentions and Memorials are a very good way to assist our Congregation and also for yourself, as a spiritual work of mercy — the highest form of Christian Charity –, that you are praying for your living and deceased loved ones and the Poor Souls in Purgatory.
With your request we, the Canons Regular of the Immaculate Conception, will remember your loved ones in one of our Daily Masses.
